Examples of PICSAR Intiatives

Active Penshurst
Based at the Penshurst and District Health Service, Active Penshurst aims to improve health & well-being and increase participation for senior members of the Penshurst Community through a low impact strength training program. A report is available. The Penshurst pilot model has now been rolled out in Balmoral, Casterton, Portland, Dunkeld/Glenthompson and Warrnambool.

Glenelg Walking Strategy
Walking forums in the Glenelg Shire were conducted to develop a shire wide walking strategy. The aim of the forums was to provide community members with the opportunity to be actively involved in discussion on walking in the Glenelg Shire. The forums sought ideas and views on issues and barriers around walking, and project concepts that could increase walking in towns around the shire.
